Whether you’re talking about snowflakes, leaves, Whether you’re talking about snowflakes, leaves, or people.

The uniqueness that is found in all of creation is what makes it beautiful.

The more I study Movement and Pitching the more I see this principle come to life.

With High-Level Pitching®️, we’ve worked to understand the necessity for our Key Performance Indicators, while allowing enough space for each athlete to be themselves and work within their style, while achieving these KPIs.

This HLP training process allows you to capitalize and maximize your unique qualities in order achieve high-level pitching patterns!

We are not trying to create a certain look in a pitcher. We are working to train patterns and movements THROUGH positions in the pitching delivery.

A Pitchers unique way of achieving that pattern will often result in a different look or style. That’s ok.

This principle also has mental and emotional implications. As athletes, especially female athletes, it’s important to not always seek out perfection. Instead, train movement quality. This is a much more achievable and appropriate approach for an athlete to comprehend. This helps them focus on the process of development!

My good friend Arin @levelupfastpitch is truely on My good friend Arin @levelupfastpitch is truely one of the most incredible coaches I’ve ever had the pleasure of being around.

Her authenticity is refreshing and her ability to draw the most out of her athletes is amazing to watch.

She’s humble and approachable and yet one of the most powerful bad*ss women I’ve had a chance to be around.

I’m in awe of what Level Up students are achieving with her implementation of the @highlevelpitching framework.

If you are in the Madison, Wisconsin are you need to check her out!

After watching and participating in more than 60 @ After watching and participating in more than 60 @highlevelthrowinghlt classes I had to understand how Austin could make something so complicated be achieved so simply.

This last year I’ve had the pleasure of studying with, learning from and asking difficult questions to @wassermanstrength in order to apply these same High Level Throwing®️ concepts to softball pitching.

My thoughts and ideas about pitching and movement have been challenged to the core.

My ideals and beliefs about player development have shifted into something much more attainable, achievable and balanced but have continued to increased in quality and robustness at the same time.

Very soon, the first edition of this collective understanding about High Level softball pitching mechanics will be released.

The goal: to communicate and train High Level Pitching®️ patterns simply and efficiently in order that athletes at all levels and ages receive an opportunity to be High Level Pitchers.

**Make sure to follow his page @highlevelpitching for updates on the release date and time!**

When 2024 @graciemaloney_ started on the @highleve When 2024 @graciemaloney_ started on the @highlevelpitching and @highlevelthrowinghlt system in August her pitching speed was 55-56mph and her overhand around 60mph...Her Pitch speed this week was 64mph and overhand was 68mph!

She’s still growing so it was very important that we allow her to keep discovering her movements and ranges of motion during her growth spurts and not get stuck on achieving a certain look.

I’m so proud of her dedication and willingness to do just about anything I ask.

She’s not only picked up speed but her moving pitches are scary to catch now and she’s developing into a very well rounded player and athlete.

We are not where we want to be, she’s still working the process, but she deserves a major shout out for her progress so far.

I cannot wait to see where this journey takes you Gracie! ⚡️⚡️

“We learn from negative experiences and talent n “We learn from negative experiences and talent needs trauma to reach its full potential.” From Conscious Coaching @consciouscoachingbook by Brett Bartholomew @coach_brettb

The second portion of this quote is haunting to me. (The word trauma might be a little harsh when applied to youth athletics... I might replace it with failure or difficulty to soften the tone to our audience.)

In reality, we all need a little wake up call every once an a while in order to kick us into high gear toward next positive direction in our life.

But problems, issues, and failure can be painful physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Especially to a young athlete.

But make no mistake, they are necessary and expected!

I often tell kids and parents that I love youth sports because young people have an opportunity to practice their reaction to difficult and seemingly traumatic situations hopefully before they have to deal with deeper trauma in their everyday lives.

For a young athlete striking out 3 times in a game, giving up a home run, or getting benched feels like trauma.

Their reaction to that difficulty and your reaction as their support system will make all the difference in the world in their ability to handle difficult situations both on and off the field.

Don’t protect them from difficulty and failure, don’t call their coach looking for a quick fix every time they struggle. And don’t dismiss their disappointment and hurt! Give them a healthy outlet to release those emotions independently.

We also have to be mindful that we don’t force difficulty on them either.

I often see parents or coaches move in the other direction and push their young athletes into situations they are just not ready for.

Overcoming failure is a skill that needs to be developed just as the physical skill of pitching needs to be developed.

Know your athlete and their ability to handle failure. Too much and they will crumble, too little and they will never develop the toughness to stand up under it.

Mackenzie 10u is looking extremely mature in her p Mackenzie 10u is looking extremely mature in her pitch sequencing these days.

She had a rough first outing, but sometimes I think that’s exactly what a young athletes, really ALL athletes, need to kick them into high gear.

She has dedicated herself to more quality focused training and crushes the zone now!

She’s more determined than I’ve ever seen her in her practices.

Every athlete at Rugged knows Mackenzie and to say we are all proud of her development and growth is an understatement!

Great job Mackenzie! ⚡️⚡️⚡️ @barkerbuilt99 @barkerjenni
